Medical Physics Intern

As part of our educational mission, Northwest Medical Physics Center has previously offered a ten-week, clinically focused, paid internship opportunity to learn about the rewarding career choice of medical physics. Undergraduate juniors and seniors pursuing a degree in physics, engineering or a related field may join our dynamic group of medical physicists to observe and assist with projects pertinent to patients undergoing radiation therapy, thereby providing valuable care to cancer patients. Eligible applicants should not have completed an undergraduate degree at the time of the internship. If a candidate has completed an undergraduate degree, we encourage them to apply to medical physics assistant (MPA) positions that become available. Internships are contingent on hospitals and clinics allowing interns due to COVID-19 policies. Please check back on the website for updates.

Application process:

On years the NMPC summer undergraduate internship is offered, interested applicants are encouraged to submit a recent curriculum vitae, up to two letters of recommendation, transcripts, a single page personal statement, and a completed application form. Applications are due February 28 prior to the summer program. Currently there are no plans to offer internships during the summer of 2022.
